[TRANSCRIPT/INTERVIEW] Sungmin who is cast as the lead in the Musical Jack the Ripper
I thought he would be snobbish since he is an idol who spread K-pop to Europe. But that was a misjudgment. Sungmin (25, real name Lee Sungmin) who smiled and said hello. I doubted whether he really was a member of idol group Super Junior who heat up France. During the interview, he carried himself like a well-mannered young person. He was serious-minded compared to his age. Sungmin has been cast as the lead character Daniel in the musical Jack the Ripper which started on the 5th. I met him on July 1 at Choongmoo art hall in Heungindong, Seoul when the musical was in its last stage of practice.
[INFO/NEWS] Ryeowook’s first musical since his debut “Temptation of Wolves”
Super Junior member Ryeowook will be taking on the challenge of appearing in his first musical since his debut.He has been cast in an acting role in the musical “Temptation of Wolves”, which will be opening this coming July 12th at the Seoul COEX Artium Hyundai Art Hall.
“Temptation of Wolves” is a jukebox musical that merges idol group music with Gui Yeoni’s original novel that expresses teenagers’ love and worries, conflicts and hopes.
A film of the same name, starring Kang Dongwon and Cho Hanseon, which also was based on the novel, was a box office hit.
Ryeowook will be playing the role that Kang Dongwon played in the film version of the movie, the main character “Jeong Taeseong”. He will be showing the audience a different side of his talents and charm.
Ryeowook’s entertainment company SM Entertainment has said: “Ryeowook has become known through his Super Junior activities for having a charming tone and an outstanding singing voice”, and “In the future, Ryeowook will show more of this new transformation in films.”
As he’s gained huge popularity due to his activities in Super Junior, and through his subsequent work in Super Junior KRY and Super Junior M, Ryeowook’s first musical will certainly be gathering attention from not only Korea, but also of course all his Asian fans.

[INFO/TRANSCRIPT] The Musical Jack the Ripper Synopsis
1888 London. A homicide detective Anderson is investigating “Jack the Ripper” who became famous for committing series of murders in Whitechapel.
Because of gruesome method of targeting only prostitutes, Anderson tries to investigate quietly without revealing his findings to the media. However, a reporter for The London Times Monroe exploits Anderson’s weakness of being a cocaine addict… Finally, Anderson makes a deal with Monroe to give exclusive information to him in exchange for receiving 1000 pounds for each information.
A few days later, a fourth murder occurs. An informant appears in front of Anderson who is on the verge of exploding at his own incompetence. The informant is Daniel who is a surgeon from America. Anderson and Monroe hear Daniel’s testimony…
Soon after, a breaking news about Jack the Ripper’s future murder appears on the front page of The London Times. The mystery of the case gets deeper.
At last, Anderson plans a sting operation. There, he meets another case. Who is the real murderer?
